MISSIONS:

Télécom SudParis is part of a CMA project (Compétences et Métiers d'Avenir) applied to cybersecurity. This project, called TCE (Train Cyber Experts), aims at producing pedagogical resources in cybersecurity, and to train bigger volumes of students in France for the years to come. Thus, the project is developing resources, including ones that can be used in autonomy.

This job offer is proposed within the working group dedicated to systems and software security. We would like to develop several activities to broaden our audience in this domain.

The resources the working group would like to develop on systems and software security will help build different modules :

  • prerequisites for systems and software development;
  • software security;
  • systems security.

The main goal of this offer is to contribute to the design and the development of lectures and labs on systems security.

The position will also include additional missions, such as developing lab platforms, developing tools on the infrastructure side and run and supervise pilot sessions for lectures and labs.

It is also possible to work on other topics within the proposed position, depending on the inclination of the recruited person, and after validation from the advisors. These ancillary missions are:

  • developing pedagogical tools around the visualization of core concepts;
  • contributions to the research in systems security within the team;
  • dissemination of TCE results.

ACTIVITIES :

The exact tasks will be defined during the contract, but here are tasks that will be part of the job:

  • writing scenarios and building stable versions of labs on memory corruptions such as buffer overflow;
  • creation of resources for students to work autonomously on systems prerequisites (system calls, namespaces, security mechanisms such as rlimits and seccomp, etc.;
  • contribution to the development of Windows classes for the systems security module;
  • design and development of a plateform to host labs on systems security;
  • dévelop and maintain labs about software vulnerability reproduction.

It is worth noting that the Windows aspects comes with training sessions taught by an external teachers who will run a “formation de formateurs” within the TCE project.

Job requirements

Level of training and/or experience required:

- Bac + 5 (Master/Engineer in Computer Science)

- Bac + 4 with professional experience ≥ 4 years

- Bac + 3 with professional experience ≥ 6 years

- Bac + 2 with professional experience ≥ 10 years

Essential skills, knowledge and experience:

- Solid knowledge on systems security and on Linux underlying concepts (e.g. namespaces and containers)

- Skills in software engineering and software development

- Knowledge in system administration

- Experience in teaching at the “enseignement supérieur” level

- Participation to security competitions such as CTFs

- Knowledge on Windows systems

Abilities and skills:

- Ability to work in team

- Ability to work both in French and in English

- Autonomy and curiosity
