MAIN MISSIONS

Conducting research in the field of machine learning applied to sound and music signals

MAIN ACTIVITIES

Research :

- Develops a research activity in the field of hybrid deep learning by combining signal processing models and machine learning with applications in the field of audio and music information retrieval.

Animation :

- Participates in and contributes to the scientific animation of the research Group (seminars, reading groups,…).

Participation in the reputation of the School and the Polytechnic Institute of Paris:

- Publishes the results of his/her research work;

- Carries out presentations and conferences;

- Involved in learned or professional societies;

- Maintains close relations with academic institutions, research centres and companies.

Miscellaneous :

- Participates in the scientific and management activities of the Department or Institution;

- Reports on the activities and results of the missions for which he/she is responsible.


Job requirements

Required skills, experience, and knowledge:

  • In-depth knowledge, theoretical or applied, in the field of signal processing and statistical learning applied to time series (audio signals)
  • Knowledge of the field of computer music (e.g. Music Information Retrieval)
  • Fluency in English


Preferred skills, experience, and knowledge:
  • Post-doctoral or international experience in an academic or industrial laboratory appreciated;


Other abilities and skills:

  • Ability to work as part of a team, interpersonal skills;
  • Ability to write and summarise.


Candidates with the following qualifications may apply:


- Doctorate or equivalent;

- Civil servant belonging to a body recruited through the École Polytechnique or ENA or former student of the École Normale Supérieure with professional experience ≥ 3 years ;

- Diploma from a School of Engineering or Business and Management or equivalent with professional experience ≥ 5 years ;

- Bac + 5 degree or equivalent with professional experience ≥ 5 years ;

- Very high level company executive with professional experience ≥ 8 years.
