This post-doctoral position is offered by IMT Atlantique (Institut Mines-Télécom), an elite technological university in France, renowned for its academic excellence and cutting-edge research in the field of information science, energy technologies, environment, and health, which is ranked in the top 10 in France.
As part of the Piezoknee project (funded by the French National Research Agency), which aims to develop a model of the knee joint using new statistical modeling methods incorporating acoustic parameters, we are recruiting a Computer Vision and 3D Modeling specialist.
Under the supervision of Valérie BURDIN, Professor in the Image et Traitement de l'Information (ITI) department, and in collaboration with Guillaume DARDENNE (INSERM Researcher) and the Imagine team of the LaTIM Laboratory (https://latim.univ-brest.fr), you will establish a state-of-the-art overview and identify a relevant solution for modeling the knee by integrating acoustic parameters.
You will develop a robust approach for building a multi-tissues digital twin of the patient's knee and set up tests to evaluate and validate the proposed solution.
In addition, you will publish your results in journals, write project deliverables (reports) and participate in working meetings with other project partners.
You want to contribute to an ambitious research project combining computer science, computer vision and medicine. This is the job for you!
You have C++/Python development skills and experience with software libraries in the field (VTK, OpenCV, etc.). Knowledge of the Scalismo library would be appreciated.
You are autonomous, creative and have initiative and team spirit.
The required profile is a PhD obtained less than 3 years before the hiring date (08/01/2024) with a strong expertise in computer vision (especially Machine Learning) and 3D modeling (Computational Mathematics).
