SCIENTIFIC CONTEXT

The Image, Data and Signal Department (IDS) is one of the four teaching and research departments of Télécom Paris. The research activity of the IDS department is done at the Laboratory Treatment and Communication of Information (LTCI).

The mission of the IDS department is teaching and research in the field of signal, image and data processing.Its objectives are:

• Modeling, study, analysis and interpretation of signals and images in all its forms (audio, video, multimedia, satellite images, biomedical images, ..).
• The study and development of algorithms and statistical processing methods for learning, optimization and data analysis.

The Department Image, Data, Signal is structured around three teams: Signal, Statistics and Learning, Multimedia and Image, Modeling, Analysis, Geometry, Synthesis.

The skills of the Signal, Statistics and Learning (S2A) team are organized in four strategic themes, all relating to data analysis:

• 1. Machine learning
• 2. Probability and statistics
• 3. Signal processing and audio data analysis

4. Automatic analysis of social signals
