Télécom Paris is looking for candidates for a position of Assistant/Associate Professor in the Optical Communications group (GTO) of the Communications and Electronics department. The GTO group conducts advanced research on very high speed transmissions, optical network architectures, advanced lasers for communications, integrated photonics and distributed fiber optic sensors. The group has recently launched a new research direction on quantum communications, using among others our high-speed experimental platform. The profile sought is a resourceful researcher who is willing to develop new research activities and teach undergraduate and graduate courses related to quantum photonics technologies applicable to optical communications and information processing. Particular interest will be shown in applicants who have demonstrated an ability to carry out and develop multidisciplinary research combining classical optical communications (including but not limited to digital signal processing or optical devices/sub-systems), and quantum communication systems.
Applications demonstrating a strong interest in experimental implementation in the laboratory will be preferred. Innovation, originality and potential of the candidate will also be highly appreciated.

ACADEMIC RANK & CAREER EVOLUTION
The proposed position is a permanent position. Depending on its experience, the successful candidate will obtain the Assistant Professor or Associate Professor title. The latter is given to the candidates having the French habilitation diploma, HDR (Habilitation à Diriger des Recherches) or an equivalent international academic experience. To obtain the Full Professor title, one of the conditions is to take the HDR.
