The Multimedia team carries out research in the area of image and video compression, as well as the transport and orchestration of multimedia content. In recent years, the team has broadened its research horizons to computer vision in order to design new multimedia processing methods. This rapidly expanding field and the number of requests to set up research projects has increased considerably over last few years due to recent progress and the many possible applications. In addition, the computer vision scientific community has grown enormously and conferences such as the CVPR, ICCV, and ECCV are becoming major scientific and economic hubs for collaboration. By reinforcing the team on this theme, we hope that the Multimedia team will be able to permanently establish itself in this highly competitive ecosystem.
Through this window of opportunity, we wish to firmly establish the team’s research trajectory while reinforcing, if possible, its expertise in video processing and analysis. In this way, we will maintain our objective of orienting the team towards the field of computer vision while maintaining our various unique areas of expertise. And while the field of computer vision is indeed vast, we seeking an individual with skills that are complementary to those of the current team in order to launch new perspectives and collaborative opportunities.
