Associate - Assistant Professor in Optics

Job description

CONTEXT

Télécom SudParis (TSP) is involved in a research activity dedicated to quantitative optical imaging approaches (e.g. biomedical applications, material characterization, …). It is also interested in addressing new imaging challenges such as dynamic samples observation, multiple scattering problem... The successful candidate will:

  • Research: conduct research in the field of computational imaging and develop new instrumental approaches and image reconstruction methods.
  • Teaching: Participate to the teaching activities in electronics and optics (undergraduate engineers), photonics courses (master M1-M2, IP-Paris). Conceive and implement new courses in computational imaging/ data exploitation.
  • Other: Participate to research fundings obtention (ANR, Eu, …) and reinforce industrial and academic collaborations. Get involved in IP-Paris ecosystem (E4H, ICE, …).

EXPECTED PROFILE

  • Experience in higher education and research (Post-doctoral ) or in industry
  • A first experience in research project management
  • Experimental data exploitation/interpretation skills
  • Programming skills (matlab, python, labview, …)
  • Background in instrumental optics, microscopy, holography or tomography is an asset
  • Taste for teamwork and interdisciplinarity

A research experience with multiple teams, or an experience with an international team is highly appreciated.

Job requirements

LEVEL OF EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

  • PhD in Optics or Physics or related fields

ESSENTIAL SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE

  • Teaching record (in physics, Optics or other relevant fields), ideally > 80 hours
  • Research record: publications in ranked international journals or conferences.
  • Fluency in English
