Post-Doctoral position in Automation, Production and Computer Sciences (DAPI) - 12 months contract

Job description

IMT Atlantique

1. Context

Présentation of IMT Atlantique :

IMT Atlantique, internationally recognised for the quality of its research, is a leading general engineering school under the aegis of the Ministry of Industry and Digital Technology, ranked in the three main international rankings (THE, SHANGHAI, QS).

Located on three campuses, Brest, Nantes and Rennes, IMT Atlantique aims to combine digital technology and energy to transform society and industry through training, research and innovation. It aims to be the leading French higher education and research institution in this field on an international scale. With 290 researchers and permanent lecturers, 1000 publications and 18 M€ of contracts, it supervises 2300 students each year and its training courses are based on cutting-edge research carried out within 6 joint research units: GEPEA, IRISA, LATIM, LABSTICC, LS2N and SUBATECH.

Job environment :

The postdoc will take place in the TASC team of the DAPI department on the Nantes campus in the framework of the European ASSISTANT project carried out in collaboration with the MODELIS team of DAPI.

The Department of Automation, Productics and Informatics (DAPI) is part of the ongoing revolution that is increasingly linking the digital and physical worlds to create adapted and adaptable industrial systems that make the best use of available resources, with a view to sustainable development. To do this, it relies on a broad spectrum of fundamental and applied skills in mathematics, operations research, computer science, robotics and automation.

Within the DAPI, the TASC (Theory and Applications of Constraint Systems) team focuses on the theory and practice of combinatorial problem solving using constraint programming, a unifying and flexible paradigm combining optimisation and relaxation and allowing for dynamic constraints and business rules.

2. Job description

Within the framework of the ASSISTANT project, the research and development work to be carried out is part of work package 6 entitled "Secure and intelligent data fabric". More specifically, this work concerns the design and implementation of a tool for analysing time series in which we wish to extract patterns that have both a qualitative and a quantitative character. The aim is to (a) represent these patterns in a concise manner, (b) extract them efficiently with respect to sliding windows, and (c) apply the whole on at least one concrete case for the detection of anomalies due to quality defects.
