1. Context

Présentation of IMT Atlantique :

IMT Atlantique, internationally recognised for the quality of its research, is a leading general engineering school under the aegis of the Ministry of Industry and Digital Technology, ranked in the three main international rankings (THE, SHANGHAI, QS).

Located on three campuses, Brest, Nantes and Rennes, IMT Atlantique aims to combine digital technology and energy to transform society and industry through training, research and innovation. It aims to be the leading French higher education and research institution in this field on an international scale. With 290 researchers and permanent lecturers, 1000 publications and 18 M€ of contracts, it supervises 2300 students each year and its training courses are based on cutting-edge research carried out within 6 joint research units: GEPEA, IRISA, LATIM, LABSTICC, LS2N and SUBATECH.

Job environment :

The LUSSI department brings together researchers in machine learning as well as in decision support and in the human and social sciences. This contract will rather fall within the latter group. The department carries out and manages forward-looking thinking, impact studies and evaluations on a few policies related to health and disability in connection with new technologies.

The proposed mission is part of the HIT project, Handicap, Innovation, Territoire, winner of the national call for projects "Territories of Innovation", piloted by Lorient Agglomeration in collaboration with the Center for Rehabilitation and Functional Rehabilitation of Kerpape and Biotech Santé Bretagne. The general objective of this project is to make disability a lever for social and technological innovation at the service of citizens. Innovative solutions will be developed as part of the HIT project and will aim to meet the different needs of people with disabilities in order to best structure an inclusive territory.

The position will be co-supervised by the cowork'HIT, Cooperative Society of Collective Interest (SCIC) financed by the Mutualité Bretagne Sanitaire et Social, the Mutualité Bretagne Seniors, member of the VYV group, Lorient Agglomeration, the Brittany Region, Biotech Santé Bretagne, the City of Ploemeur, the CCI of Morbihan, Crédit Coopératif, CMB Arkéa, the University of South Brittany and the Banque des Territoires (PIA "Territories of innovation"). This innovation center is located in the Kerpape rehabilitation center, and allows easy access to people with disabilities who will be asked to respond to the social participation scoring tools (MHAVIE and MQE).

Scientific coordination will be led by Myriam Le Goff-Pronost (IMT Atlantique) evaluation researcher, Mr Willy Allègre (Cowor'HIT / Kerpape), PhD engineer specializing in technological assistance, and François Routhier (CIRRIS, Quebec), full professor at Laval University.


2. Job description

As part of an agreement between IMT Atlantique and Lorient Agglomeration, the person recruited would be assigned to lot 1 of the project, namely "Definition of the course of the citizen with a disability, Integration and overall assessment". The objectives of the overall study are to refine the definition of a disability care pathway, to identify breaking points, to propose evaluation methodologies, to select evaluation indicators. The post-doc will aim to finalize the qualitative and quantitative analyzes carried out according to the research protocol validated in France and Quebec.

The recruited person will have the following missions:

• analyze the interviews carried out and produce results;

• analysis of the MHAVIE and MQE scores and production of the results;

• administration of additional MHAVIE and MQE questionnaires and repeat the administration at the end of the post-doc;

• study on exoskeletons;

• participation in project steering meetings;

• restitution in the form of scientific articles and a report.

  • PhD related to disability (Clinical and Biomedical Sciences, adaptation/rehabilitation specificity; evaluation of public policies; sciences applied to rehabilitation; sociology of disability; anthropology; economics of disability)…

Knowledge & Skills

  • Mastery of the main survey techniques of the social sciences (individual and collective interviews, survey by questionnaire, case studies, etc.).

  • Knowledge of the disability and rehabilitation sector.

  • Knowledge of public policy evaluation.

  • Mastery of statistical and modeling tools
  • Creativity, autonomy and sense of initiative;
  • Analytical and synthetical mind;
  • Editorial ability;
  • Teamwork.
