Job description

Who we are ?
A member of the Institut Mines-Télécom, Télécom Paris is France's leading engineering school for generalist digital engineers. With its excellent teaching and research, Télécom Paris is at the heart of a unique innovation ecosystem based on the cross-disciplinary nature of its training, its research departments, and its business incubator.
A founding member of the Institut Polytechnique de Paris, Télécom Paris positions itself as an open-air laboratory for all major technological and societal challenges.
We are looking for our future Project Manager to join our Economics and Social Sciences (SES) department.
In 2025, Télécom Paris and the BNP Paribas Group created a joint laboratory called ‘FinAI-LAB’ to conduct research on cutting-edge AI technologies and their use in the activities of a large financial group. This project comprises four technical areas dedicated to specific use cases in the financial sector, and a cross-cutting area on trusted AI, applicable to all technical areas.
The four technical areas are:
• AI for large banking data infrastructures, particularly for anomaly detection;
• AI, and more specifically LLM, for time series prediction work;
• AI and cybercrime, particularly for detecting weak signals of attacks;
• AI and the fight against money laundering and terrorist financing (AML-CFT).
A cross-cutting area of ‘trustworthy AI’ will examine regulatory constraints (AI Act, banking regulations) in relation to technical solutions for explainability, fairness, safety, model validation, and system audits.
Each focus area is scientifically supported by a pair consisting of a professor from Télécom Paris and a scientist from BNPParibas, surrounded by their teams and internal or external collaborators. Project coordination on non-scientific aspects (recruitment, deliverables, event planning and organisation, communication and promotion of the teams' work, etc.) is therefore necessary to ensure that the partners' commitments are properly fulfilled and the project is successful.
What is expected of the person who will fill this position:
You will work closely with the project's scientific directors and liaise with various stakeholders: scientific teams in charge of research areas and their counterparts at the partner organisation, the administrative units of the various Télécom Paris research departments involved in the project, the research department (in particular the research contracts and promotion unit and the scientific communication unit), the engineers in charge of the computing cluster at Télécom Paris and the IT department, etc. The tasks involved in this position are interesting, stimulating and varied. You will work closely with the research teams at Télécom Paris and the school's various research support services, while managing the necessary interface and links with the R&D teams at BNPParibas. All of this will revolve around a topic of strategic interest to both partners.
Your main responsabilities :
To ensure the operational coordination and monitoring of the project
To implement scientific activities in line with partners' expectations and designed with the project's scientific leaders
In consultation with the project's scientific leaders, develop a communication strategy to promote the project and its results, and implement it (in coordination with the school's scientific communication department)
Job requirements
We are looking for a rigorous and organized person with excellent command of French and English (minimum C1 level) and an appetite for scientific topics. The position requires proficiency in the IT tools commonly used in the role, including office software such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, as well as email and project management tools.
Professional experience within a financial group or in the field of scientific research would be appreciated. Solid knowledge and a keen interest in topics related to artificial intelligence and machine learning would be an additional asset.
You will need to demonstrate autonomy, excellent organizational skills, good communication and coordination skills, and effective time and priority management in order to carry out a variety of tasks within deadlines.
Why join us?
You'll be working in a fast-growing, pleasant, green and accessible environment (especially for people with disabilities) just 20 km from Paris (RER B and C suburban train lines, close to major roads, shared shuttle departing from Porte d'Orléans). You will benefit from :

flexible working hours (depending on department activity)
telecommuting 1 to 3 days/week possible
75% public transport pass reimbursement
Proximity to numerous sports facilities, concierge service, underground parking, in-house catering, etc.
