MISSIONS:

Mega-constellations of low-orbit satellites have been growing exponentially in recent years.

The signals that these satellites broadcast to Earth, although developed for data exchange, constitute what are known as Signals of Opportunity (SOP) for geolocation.

The laboratory has developed algorithms to perform geolocation using such signals. We now wish to move on to an experimental phase.

The mission will take place at the SAMOVAR laboratory, in the electronics and physics department of Télécom SudParis on the Palaiseau site.

ACTIVITIES:

The objective of the mission is to design and then build a radio reception architecture based on a Software Defined Receiver (SDR) to collect and exploit the signals from these satellites.

The work will begin with a review of the literature on the subject, followed by processing of reception simulations based on the waveforms of the signals from the targeted constellations. This will be followed by the definition of the architecture and finally its implementation and evaluation.

CANDIDATE PROFILE
