Job description

Internationally recognized generalist engineering school of the IMT (Institut Mines-Télécom), a leading French engineering school (Technological University), IMT Atlantique aims to support transitions, train responsible engineers, and use scientific excellence to serve teaching, research, and innovation.

As part of a project to create a registry tailored to the emerging needs of IoT ecosystems, we are recruiting a Research and Development Engineer in Strategy – Business Model and Governance for an IoT data identifier infrastructure within our Network Systems, Cybersecurity, and Digital Law Department (SRCD).

Member of the project team, you will help define and evaluate business model scenarios for managing an SID identifier registry for the IoT. You will develop a preliminary business plan (assumptions, financial projections, ramp-up scenarios) and initial proposals for value-added services. You will benchmark comparable governance models and identify levers for adoption among the various players in the IoT ecosystem. You will work closely with other members of the Chair to ensure consistency between the strategic, technical, and governance aspects of the project.

Job requirements

Minimum education and/or experience required:

Master’s degree (Bac + 5) or equivalent (engineering school, business school, political science institute or university) with a specialization in digital economics, strategic management of digital systems, innovation management, or IT governance

 

Essential skills, knowledge and experience:

·       Proven experience in strategic consulting, economic modeling, business model design, or innovation economics

·       Interest in, or prior exposure to, open digital infrastructure, Internet standards, or governance of complex technical systems

·       Ability to work in interdisciplinary environments and address challenges at the intersection of technology, economics, and policy

·       Strong skills in economic analysis, business planning, governance benchmarking, and cost-benefit evaluation

·       Excellent analytical and writing abilities, with a high degree of autonomy and a capacity to collaborate effectively with both technical and institutional stakeholders
