Job description

Who we are ?

Télécom Paris, part of the IMT (Institut Mines-Télécom) and a founding member of the Institut Polytechnique de Paris, is one of France's top 5 general engineering schools.

The mainspring of Télécom Paris is to train, imagine and undertake to design digital models, technologies and solutions for a society and economy that respect people and their environment.

We are looking for a postdoctoral researcher in AI applied to RF dosimetry, to contribute to the research conducted by the C2M chair.

Established in 2015, the Modeling, Characterization, and Control of Electromagnetic Wave Exposure (C2M) conducts its research along 5 axes: Digital and experimental dosimetry, statistical modeling of exposure, stochastic dosimetry and artificial intelligence, influence of network technologies and architectures on exposure, standardization of exposure assessment methods and parameters governing the social perception of risk.

With the development of the use of these wireless technologies, the perception of risks and concerns related to the exposure to EMF induced by wireless communication systems and infrastructures exist despite the existing limits and guidelines (ICNIRP). Over the last decades, great efforts have been devoted to the assessment of the maximum exposure induced by cellular base stations and to the verification of the compliance of base station emissions with the ICNIRP guidelines. For example, ANFR has been carrying out and publishing measurements since 2014. Studies on the effectiveness of using artificial intelligence (AI) approaches for EMF exposure have recently been conducted to analyze exposures induced by telecommunication networks. As part of the European projects Seawave and Goliat, this post-doc will study methods, linked to AI, that can be used for the monitoring (spatial and temporal) of exposures related to emissions from base stations but also from mobiles operating in these networks.

Your main tasks will be to:

  • To carry out research missions in the field of exposure and use of AI.

  • To ensure supervision and tutoring missions

  • To contribute to the reputation of the School, the Institut Mines-Télécom and the Institut Polytechnique de Paris

Job requirements

The position requires a Ph.D. and advanced expertise in AI ans statistics. Skills in electromagntism, propagation and experience with Matlab and Python would be an asset. Fluency in English is mandatory. The position also requires the ability to work collaboratively, strong analytical and synthesis skills, and the capacity to showcase research findings through publications and conferences.

Why join us?
