Job description

Who we are ?

Télécom Paris, part of the IMT (Institut Mines-Télécom) and a founding member of the Institut Polytechnique de Paris, is one of France's top 5 general engineering schools.

The mainspring of Télécom Paris is to train, imagine and undertake to design digital models, technologies and solutions for a society and economy that respect people and their environment.

We are looking for a Post-doctoral Fellow in adversarial attacks: defense and detection to join our department INFRES at Télécom Paris.
Computer sciences and networks (INFRES) works in different areas such as: architecture, design and verification of software systems and communication networks, data science, the interaction between man and machine, security, mobility, or the control of energy consumption.

SCIENTIFIC CONTEXT

Right now, adversarial attacks disturbances are applied to several targets: images, videos, network data, etc.... Their method allows attackers to evade face recognition or impersonate detected human faces. However, adversarial examples may be detectable in some cases because the colors of used glasses are unusual.

The objective of the work is to secure attack perception and detection systems. A good defense measure could be deployed using multiple sources of data. Aggregating and analyzing the correlation of data is a key element in its processing. We plan to collect multiple data from multiple sources and aggregate it into a single data base. Then, we need to measure the correlation and resemblance of data processing results. We aim to analyse and study the plausibility and integrity of this data. The objective here is to better detect adversarial attacks targeting the image detection/perception system (in the case of a video surveillance system, or robot or drone, or an IoT network etc...) then study the resilience of the entire solution and continuity of service in case of loss/failure of one or more sensors
