Internationally recognized generalist engineering school of the IMT (Institut Mines-Télécom), leading French engineering school (Technological University), IMT Atlantique aims to support transitions, train responsible engineers, and use scientific excellence to serve teaching, research and innovation.
As part of the ANR ASTRAL project, we are recruiting a post-doc in Computer Science - Design of methods for representing augmented reality avatars in our Computer Science department. The aim of this research assignment is to design and study augmented reality avatars.
The aim of this post-doc will first be to provide solutions for representing avatars in an augmented reality context, taking into account the additional constraints of the context (first-person view, on-board sensors, self-occlusions...). The second phase will consist of participating in the perceptual evaluation of the avatars thus produced.

Job requirements
You have knowledge of virtual reality or augmented reality.
You have experience in advanced C++ or C# programming and have skills in project management and collaborative IT development.
You are comfortable with real-time computer vision, real-time image synthesis and machine learning techniques.
You are fluent in written and spoken French, and have a sufficient level of English to familiarize yourself with Anglo-Saxon scientific literature.
You are autonomous, organized and enjoy teamwork.
You must hold a PhD or engineering degree in computer science
Some travel is required to project partners (Nantes, Rennes, Laval) or to scientific conferences.
