MISSIONS:

The acceleration of digital transformation is based on the growing capacity of communications networks combined with innovative new applications, new business models and transformative technologies. IMT Business School is part of a significant project to investigate and contribute to the development of specific skills associated with the on-going deployment of the 5G mobile network and related innovations. This initiative, called IMTfor5G+, is supported by the French government through the “Future Competencies and Careers” (Compétences et Métiers d’Avenir) component of the France 2030 program, operated by the Caisse des Dépôts et Consignations.

Project IMTfor5G+

The roll-out of the 5G mobile network is transforming digital communication, data processing and service infrastructure. This shift enhances the potential for the creation of services of greater complexity and diversity, in turn enabling greater innovative functionalities. This evolution requires the development of new hardware and software solutions, the design of complex architectures, and the adoption of efficient and secure management methods, as well as new business models. Faced with these upheavals, it is necessary to anticipate the skills that will be needed in future or working engineers and managers and to develop adapted training programs and methods.

As part of this project, IMT-BS is enhancing existing courses and developing new courses to integrate topics related to the technological and business innovations that will be facilitated by the rollout of the 5G network. Pedagogical innovation is programmed at different levels of undergraduate and graduate programs as well as in relation to executive education opportunities. Courses such as Management of Innovation and Technologies and Strategic Management, for example, are being revised to integrate new content and pedagogical activities related to this topic.

ACTIVITIES:

To further the development of expertise and appropriate material, the initiative also includes research activities in strategic management and innovation studies related to the development of enhanced communications networks and associated applications.

The postdoc position to be filled will involve participating to research and teaching activities in connection with the IMTfor5G+ project described above. The recruited candidate will also be encouraged to take initiatives and propose new research directions to the team, in areas of interest to the research teams within the LITEM laboratory (EA 7363) with the objective of publishing in ranked journals.
