Job description
Internationally recognized generalist engineering school of the IMT (Institut Mines-Télécom), a leading French engineering school (Technological University), IMT Atlantique aims to support transitions, train responsible engineers, and use scientific excellence to serve teaching, research, and innovation.
As part of the ICI (Computational Imaging for Ultra-Low Field MRI) project, which aims to develop a portable and accessible MRI imaging system based on a computational approach and artificial intelligence, in collaboration with Brest University Hospital and Multiwave (Marseille), we are recruiting an Engineer to join our Data Science department (DSD).
In collaboration with the project team, you will develop and maintain the software chain for reconstructing and analyzing ultra-low field MRI images (Python, PyTorch). You will manage, store, and distribute MRI data acquired on the ultra-low field machine in collaboration with project partners. You will assist researchers and engineers in using the tools developed and promoting the results (documentation, packaging, open source distribution). You will contribute to the technical coordination of the project with industrial (Mutiwave) and academic (LaTIM, Brest University Hospital) partners.
Job requirements
Minimum education and/or experience required:
Master’s degree (or equivalent, Bac +5) in computer science, signal processing, applied mathematics, or related field.
Essential skills, knowledge and experience:
Strong experience in Python and PyTorch (or equivalent frameworks).
Solid knowledge of image processing and reconstruction, ideally in medical imaging.
Proficiency with version control and CI/CD tools (Git, GitLab).
Knowledge of MRI-related formats and libraries (NumPy, NiBabel, TorchIO).
Autonomy, rigor, and ability to work collaboratively.
Skills, knowledge, and desirable experience (optional):
Knowledge of MRI physics or signal processing.
Experience with deep learning architectures for image reconstruction or segmentation.
Familiarity with Linux environments.
Experience in open-source software development and documentation.
Abilities and skills:
Ability to work in a multidisciplinary research environment (physics, AI, health).
Good interpersonal and communication skills.
Organizational ability and autonomy.
Strong motivation for experimentation and technological innovation.
