MISSIONS:

In the field of networks and cloud:
- Participate in the design, coordination, and implementation of teaching at Télécom SudParis in networks and cloud within the school’s various programs, the continuing education programs of the Institut Mines-Télécom, and co-accredited programs with the Institut Polytechnique de Paris.
- Conduct research, innovation, and develop contractual relationships in the field of AIOps (Artificial Intelligence for IT Operations), applied to the management and control of digital assets (physical and virtual digital resources, future networks, deployment and monitoring).
- Develop partnerships, collaborations, and contractual relations in the field.
- Be an active member of the SAMOVAR laboratory and the NeSS team.

ACTIVITIES:

Teaching activities:
- Deliver and organize lectures and tutorials on networks, virtualization, and machine learning for networks, for core and specialized courses, in the engineering program for both student status and apprentice status.
- Participate in continuing education.
- Supervise and tutor students: student projects, internships, thesis defenses, etc.
- Participate in selection interview panels for candidates (engineering program, specialized master’s) to help recruit new students.

Research activities:
- Lead and conduct basic and applied research in AIOps (Artificial Intelligence for IT Operations), applied to the management and control of digital assets (physical and virtual digital resources, future networks, deployment and monitoring), addressing related properties such as performance evaluation and management, system and network resilience, safety and security, and digital frugality. This includes leading industrial or collaborative projects, as well as supervising PhD students and platform engineers.
- Contribute to the development of the high-speed experimental platform hosted at Télécom SudParis.
- Maintain an academic publication record compatible with integration into the SAMOVAR laboratory within the NeSS team.
- Initiate and participate in projects involving external partners of the Institut Mines-Télécom, academia, or industry, especially within national or European funding frameworks.

Job requirements

Level of training and / or experience required:

- PhD obtained or to be obtained (defense scheduled before December 31, 2025).
- Significant teaching and research experience in an academic or industrial lab.
- Experience in at least two different research teams, demonstrated through publications.

Essential skills, knowledge and experience:

- Relevant skills should cover topics such as:

- Networks
- Machine Learning for networks and AIOps
- Cloud services
- Significant publications, including international ones, compatible with integration into the SAMOVAR laboratory.
- Teaching experience in higher education.
- Experience in executing European or national contracts.
- Proficiency in French and professional English (written/oral).
- Knowledge of scientific challenges and laboratories in the field at national and international levels.
- Participation in scientific community activities (program committees, event organization, etc.).

Advantageous skills, knowledge and experience:

- Minimum two years of international experience (PhD, post-doc, or equivalent).
- At least two years of experience in teaching and research.
- Knowledge of information and communication technologies.

- Good interpersonal and pedagogical skills.
