We are looking for a post-doctoral fellow in machine learning applied to agriculture. You will join the INFRES Department.

As part of the Twinfarms project, supported by the AgroParisTech foundation, we want to create a

classification tool for arable and livestock farms. Based on descriptors accessible via the technical institutes members of the project (ARVALIS, IDELE in particular), the aim is to classify farms in order to determine their characteristic properties. Ultimately, we should be able to use this tool to consider optimal scenarios for farms.

Your main responsabilities :

  • To carry out research missions in the field of machine learning applied to agriculture

  • To ensure supervision and tutoring missions

  • To contribute to the reputation of the School, the Institut Mines-Télécom and the Institut Polytechnique de Paris

Job requirements

The position is aimed at a doctor with proven expertise in machine learning, both in theory and practice. A good command of English is essential. Specific skills in classification algorithms are particularly desirable. A sensitivity to or interest in agricultural issues would also be an advantage. The candidate will need to be able to work well in a team, with strong interpersonal skills, scientific rigour and a taste for teaching.
