Job description

IMT Atlantique

Internationally recognized generalist engineering school of the IMT (Institut Mines-Télécom), leading French engineering school (Technological University), IMT Atlantique aims to support transitions, train responsible engineers, and use scientific excellence to serve teaching, research and innovation.

As part of the Cybersecurity for Critical National Infrastructures industrial research chair and the Horizon Europe CyberSecDome project, we are recruiting two post-docs for "Immersive Interfaces for Cybersecurity" in our Network Systems, Cybersecurity and Digital Law Department (SRCD).

The integration of virtual reality (VR) into cybersecurity represents a paradigm shift in the way we perceive, analyze and mitigate cyberthreats. By leveraging the immersive capabilities of VR, cybersecurity professionals can transcend the limitations of traditional interfaces and gain unrivalled situational awareness and understanding of complex networks. Visualizing complex datasets, network topologies and threat landscapes in real time in a three-dimensional virtual environment not only enhances the user experience, but also can provide an intuitive and interactive platform for in-depth risk analysis.

VR technology enables cybersecurity experts to accurately navigate the ever-changing threat landscape, proactively identifying vulnerabilities and quickly responding to potential breaches. The immersive nature of VR not only improves the efficiency of cybersecurity tasks, but also promotes collaboration and decision-making, making it a transformative tool for securing critical infrastructures in our increasingly digital world.

You will play a key role in advancing the field of cybersecurity through the development of immersive interfaces. You will carry out research into immersive data analysis, situational awareness, risk analysis, remote collaboration and remote management of critical infrastructure security. You will help manage the European Horizon Europe CyberSecDome project, which aims to tackle the ever-changing challenges in the field of cybersecurity, and work closely with industrial partners such as Airbus, BNP Paribas, EDF and SNCF, within the Cybersecurity of Critical Infrastructures industrial chair (https://cyberCNI.fr).

In addition, you can participate in teaching, and mentoring students.
